Elemental Altar : Bubble Edition

Description

Here in France, Cergy, we were celebrating the 10th edition of GGJ Site organizer. So the team decided to make a reboot of a 2017 Global Game Jam game : Elemental Altar.

This is a local-competitive-multiplayer game where elemental characters fight to reach the highest score. Each player moves a character on one edge of the battle zone. The center spawns bubbles at a regular rate, with random angles. The goal is to catch as many bubbles as possible just by colliding with them.

Sometimes, bigger bubbles appear, and to catch them you shall collide with them AND you shall press a button on your gamepad (from the 4 buttons on the right-side of the controller : A, B, X, Y).

The button to press corresponds to the direction of the color of the landscape (e.g. If the blue player is on the right of the screen, and you encounter a big blue bubble, you shall press the button on the right(e.g. button B for XBox controller, or button X for gamecube controller). The colors of the buttons on the controller do not matter.

When you succeed to get a big bubble, the same big color bubble is sent back to one of the opponents (random choice).

As you are going further in the game, your opponents make your bubble stream hard to clear because you have to press several buttons, sequentially at specific times.

Rythm and reflexes are the keys !
